We live in a world where an over-enthusiastic bundle of pixels can get their own movie. It’s not right, and it’s not clever, but for some reason people seem to love emoji. Well, you can rejoice, as you can now use emoji in Microsoft Teams to liven up your channel’s tabs:
If you choose to do this, your students will love you. I, on the other hand, will never look at you in quite the same way again. The choice is yours.
How to add emoji to your class team tabs 馃ぎ
To add emoji to your class channel’s tabs, use the following incantation:
- Jump on to https://emojipedia.org/ — yes, that’s a thing — and search for the emoji you want to use.
- Click the copy button next to the emoji you want.
- Switch to Teams click the + at the top of the screen to add a new channel.
- Right-click and paste the emoji in the tab name field.
It’s worth being aware that depending on the device your students are using, they may see a slightly different version of the emoji.
That’s it! That’s all you have to do. Whatever fate should befall you from now on is a result of your own actions.
