Accidentally deleted a Team? Don’t panic, it’s really easy for your Microsoft 365 admin to recover them.
For some strange reason, Microsoft has made it really easy to accidentally delete a team. You just click the team options and then Delete team. It doesn’t matter whether the team is just a quick way for a few students to chat or the storage location for all of your financial data. Individual teams can be deleted really easily.
Fortunately, it’s also really easy to recover a deleted team, but for some unknown reason, the option to restore a Team is missing from the Teams admin portal, instead, you need to use the SharePoint admin portal.
Here’s how to recover a team that has been accidentally deleted:
- Log in to your school’s Microsoft 365 admin portal: https://admin.microsoft.com/
- From the left-hand menu select SharePoint
- From the left-hand menu select Sites > Deleted Sites
- Select the site you want to recover and click Restore.
