Hopefully your school IT team has already populated all of your Microsoft Teams classes using Microsoft School Data Sync, but if you need to set up an additional class, you can do so by following the instructions below.

How to create a new class in Microsoft Teams
- Open the Teams window
- Click the create team button
- Select the class team type
The class team type is the only one which contains assignments, student class OneNote notebook, and grades features.
- Enter your class details
Enter the name of your class (1) and give it a description (2) to allow students to find it more easily.
Then click next (3).
- Add students to the class
Add students to your new class by searching for them by name.
Click add once you’ve found the student.
Click skip or close once you’ve added all your students.
- Add additional teachers to the class
You can also add additional teachers to the class.
Click skip or close once you’re done.
- Well done! Your new class is now ready.
