First Look: Google Collections — Pinterest for Google Apps schools

10 June 2015 by Karl Rivers 1 Comment

Pinterest is a great tool for teachers to collate online learning resources and share them with students. But the problem with Pinterest is that it’s completely outside of school control and can contain material inappropriate for schools.

Now Google has stepped up to the plate with Google Collections — it’s Pinterest done the Google way — which allows teachers and students to collect web links, videos, pictures, and other content and share them with others. You can even browse public collections created by other teachers to borrow resources from.

Google Collections is still in the early stages of development but it provides a great way for schools to take all the best bits of Pinterest but within the controlled environment of your school’s Google Apps domain.

Check out the video above for a quick walkthough of Google Collections.
