Use time lapse videos in your classroom to create engaging media content.
iMovie for the iPad is hugely popular with both teachers and students due to its simplicity and speed, but video creation isn’t limited to Apple’s mobile operating system. I put this video together in just a few minutes — actual filming time was more than an hour — using a free Android app called Droid Timelapse.
As the name suggests, Droid Timelapse allows you to create a time lapse video on any Android device. This sequence was shot on my HTC smartphone, but it would work equally well on any Android phone or tablet with a decent camera.
Droid Timelapse allows you to configure settings such as the resolution of the video, the maximum length of the video, and even add film effects.
Hi,
If people like this, I will put a tutorial together for how you could use the Raspberry Pi and the Pi Cam or an attached webcam to do this.
That would be great! I’ll let you know how it goes.
