ClassThink is a site for schools, teachers, and school IT teams to share best practice and learn about the latest technology available to schools, colleges, and universities.
How ClassThink Started
ClassThink was started in January 2013 by Karl Rivers as a place to share the resulting report of an iPad research project for Biddenham International School. As the site grew and more articles were posted the number of views reached beyond all expectations. To date we achiveve almost 100,000 hits per month, and have been featured in numerous press articles.
In 2014, Karl won the Naace Impact Award for supporting school technology for his work with schools.
We now have contributions from many IT professionals across the world on topics such as iPad, Raspberry Pi, Windows, Android, BYOD, eSafety, and more.
What is ClassThink?
ClassThink is a technology website that provides free and unbiased technology advice to schools, IT administrators, and teachers.
At a time when schools are increasingly financially constrained we’re passionate that the knowledge needed to use technology in schools should be free. It’s for this reason that we want to be entirely supported by our readers — the teachers, technicians, administrators, and students who use our content to improve technology in schools.
Where are we going?
ClassThink is run by Karl Rivers, a school Director of IT from the UK, supported by a small group of IT professionals. Our time is very limited, but we have a ton of amazing projects and ideas we’d love to be able to share with our audience:
- Detailed step-by-step guides on managing Microsoft 365, iPads, Google G Suite, Raspberry Pi and more.
- News articles on IT industry developments with a focus on education.
- Regular videos sharing innovative use of technology in schools.
- Video reviews of the latest hardware and software.
- School ICT policy templates and advice.
